The Original Curl Footprints in the Sands of Tiime

This is the index into an electrionic copy of “SOME CURL FOOTPRINTS IN THE SANDS OF TIME” as written by my father, Howard E. Curl, prior to his death in 1963. This was prepared by scanning in my original copy and tranforming it to editable text with an Optical Character Recognition program. Then editing the result to correct any mis-recognitions by the software.

In preperation of this document I was faced with several problems. The original of the document in my posession consisted of 5 pages of introductory material and thirty six (36) numbered pages. This I beleve to be the state of the document at the time of his death. Some of those pages have additional information in my mothers handwritting. In addition to those pages,

Additional information of Joseph Curl and Joseph Stratton Curl

The first problem in generation of this document was one of format. Should I maintain the page numbering, layout, etc, or change it to fit better in an electronic media. I decided to reformat for the presentation media. In doing so, some of the references by page number are broken. I hope to fix that in the future.

Should I correct typo’s and spelling. I decided to correct those where the meaning was clear. I did not try to correct names or dates, even if I thought they were wrong.

Lastly, what about new data? I decided that I would incorporate my mothers hand written notes, however putting them in italics so that they could be distinguished from my fathers work. After this is complete I hope to publish a revised version, incorporating additional information which has become available.
